Dartvale Home & Garden Maintenance was born from a simple desire: to do practical, creative work that makes a real difference to people’s homes and gardens.

I was born and raised in Totnes and have strong family connections throughout the local area. My parents grew up in Landscove and Broadhempston, my wife taught at a local school, and our three daughters have all lived, studied and now work in the area after graduating from Exeter and Plymouth Universities. South Devon has always been home, and I’m proud to work within the community I know and love.

After leaving KEVICC in 1994, I worked locally, with the longest spell being 20 years working in the legal profession as a practice/accounts manager. It was a career that taught me the importance of professionalism, reliability, honesty and attention to detail - qualities that remain at the heart of everything I do today.

Although I valued my career, after many years behind a desk I felt a growing desire for a change. I wanted to spend more time working with my hands, being creative and seeing the results of my work come to life. That led me to turn something I had always enjoyed doing in my own time into Dartvale Home & Garden Maintenance.

Over the years, I’ve taken on a wide variety of practical projects, from painting and decorating, tiling and kitchen fitting to fencing, landscaping and general home and garden maintenance. I particularly enjoy the variety that this work brings - no two jobs are quite the same, and there is real satisfaction in taking something that needs attention and leaving it looking better, smarter and cared for.

I take genuine pride in my work and believe that the small details matter. I aim to provide a professional, dependable service and to complete every job to a high standard. Whether it’s a larger project or simply those jobs around the home and garden that you never seem to have time for, I treat every customer’s property with the same care and respect I would give my own.

For me, good workmanship is about more than simply getting the job done. It’s about being reliable, communicating clearly, taking pride in the finished result and, wherever possible, going that extra mile.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing guitar and creating YouTube tutorials for my channel, Dartside Scenics.
